Our Story

A Family Farm Rooted in Tradition

We are Goras Organic — a small family operation at the edge of the Gir, where our cows have names, moods, and favourite trees.

How Goras Organic Began

Goras Organic started with a simple question: why does the milk in the market taste nothing like the milk we grew up with? The kind our grandmothers boiled every morning, where the cream rose thick and golden and the chai tasted like it was supposed to.

The answer, we discovered, lay in the cows. Most commercial dairy today comes from crossbred Holstein-Friesian cattle — bred for volume, not quality. The indigenous Gir cow, with her distinctive domed forehead and long ears, gives far less milk — but what she gives is pure A2 protein milk, the way nature intended it.

So we did what our family has always done: we went back to the land. We started with a small herd of Gir cows on our farm near Surat, Gujarat. We let them graze freely on organic pastures, feed on fresh fodder, and live as cows should live — unhurried, unforced, and with their calves by their side.

Our Gir Cows — The Heart of Goras Organic

Every one of our forty-odd Gir cows has a name and a story. They are indigenous Indian cattle — a breed that has given this land its milk for centuries, long before crossbreeding changed the dairy landscape. Gir cows produce only A2 beta-casein protein, the older, gentler form of milk protein that many families find easier to digest.

Our cows roam freely across the farm. They eat what they choose — fresh green fodder, organic grains, and wild grasses. We never use oxytocin, hormones, or antibiotics. The calves always drink first — that is a promise we will never break. Only after they have had their fill do we milk the cows, by hand, in the early hours of the morning.

The Goras Organic Promise

We believe good food comes from honest farming. Our A2 Gir cow milkis never homogenized, never standardized, and never mixed with anyone else's milk. What leaves our farm in the morning is single-herd, single-origin milk — chilled to 4°C within minutes, bottled in sterilized glass, and delivered to your door before breakfast.

Our Vedic bilona ghee is made the way it has been made for thousands of years — from whole-milk curd, hand-churned on a wooden bilona, and slow-simmered until golden. It takes 30 litres of A2 milk to make just 1 litre of our ghee. There are no shortcuts.

We are not a large operation, and we never want to be. We would rather feed a hundred families well than a thousand families poorly. That is the Goras Organic way.

Zero Hormones & Antibiotics

Our cows are never given oxytocin, growth hormones, or routine antibiotics. Healthy cows make healthy milk.

Calves First, Always

The calves drink before we milk. This is not a marketing line — it is how our farm operates, every single morning.

Single-Herd, Single-Origin

Your milk comes from one farm, one herd. No pooling from collection centres, no anonymous supply chains.

Glass Bottles, Not Plastic

We deliver in sterilized glass bottles that we collect, wash, and reuse. Better for the milk, better for the planet.
